Strike Brings Down Veggie Prices

Sales and price of vegetables at the Gandhi Market has come down with regard to the strike conducted by the TNSTC members. The officials claim that 80-90 per cent of the fleets are being operated, most of the buses operated by part-time drivers return to depots after 6 pm. So the vendors are not able to get back because of which they do not reach the markets for purchase. Even the small scale vendors are not able to come to market for purchase and so the prices have plunged to nearly 50% of the original cost.
