The infrastructure of the city has been steadily improving with the opening of people friendly recreational spots. Two new parks have been opened in the vicinity with one of them being the first science park of the city. The science park has been opened at Anna Nagar and the other park has been opened at Yogalakshmi Nagar. The science park has been established with a complex extending for about 2100 sq.ft. in a total area of 2.62 acres and at an expense of Rs. 2.5 crore. As many as 20 scientific equipment have been installed. To raise the children’s curiosity about animals and reptiles, models of dinosaurs and other animals have been set up. A lawn has been created in an area of about 9,500 sq. ft. thereby creating a green ambiance. It also consists of an amphitheater with a seating capacity of 500 persons, a musical dancing fountain, a rock fountain and a water fountain. More than 500 spectators visited the science park on the first day. Since it is located at the center of the city, it is expected to receive excellent patronage. No entry fee would be collected.
