School, College Students To Be Trained In BLS

Orthopedic specialists on Sunday claimed that awareness about the importance of Basic life support(BLS) service for accident victims is poor in the city. As a result, the Tamil Nadu Orthopedic Association(TNOA)-Central Zone 1, is coming up with a one year programme through which they would be conducting BLS training at schools and colleges across across the city. They were speaking during the sidelines of a marathon event ’Run Trichy for Road Safety Awareness &Bones’, which was organized by the TNOA in association with Trichy Ortho Club as a part of the National Bone and Joint Day programmes. Experts said that if BLS is not given properly to an injured person, it might even lead to the patient becoming paraplegic and quadriplegic has already covered a few schools as a part of its one year programme and would cover the schools and colleges on a monthly basis.
