Re-modeling of the newly established Central Market for Vegetables, Fruits and Flowers at Kallikudi on the outskirts has been the next proposed as the upcoming plan by the district administration. The plan is to offer bigger shops to wholesale traders. The market, is at a distance of about 12 km from the Central Bus Stand, and was built at an estimate of ₹65 crore with an complete assistance from the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund. This renovation is planned as some of the traders of Gandhi Market denied to move, posing a reason that the shops in the new market were too small. The district administration has planned to make 500 shops in the ground floor bigger by dismantling the wall in-between two shops. The remodeling work is expected to begin as soon as the necessary approvals are obtained.
